I have a group of incredible friends out here in LA. A decade ago when I originally moved out here I never thought that would be the case. LA is a tough crowd, all these pretty people, using other pretty people, afraid of being used. Its tough to make a case for honest friendship.
I got lucky! The pirate crew is tight, and I couldn’t ask for more loyal, open-minded, genuine friends. Last year a bunch of the pirates got skull and crossbone tattoos to signify our bond. But this year, well I wanted to say something about 2 of the best girlfriends I’ve ever known. The tattoo above is my own little tribute to Shawna and Valerie, the dagger and the cupcake. Its a yin and yang thing I guess, but they keep me balanced, and I’d like to think I keep them feeling loved.
I have a lot of really special girlfriends, Paula, Peanut, Laura, don’t feel left out. I just wanted to give Val and Shawna something special, to remind them that they are both worthy of the most awesome things in the world!
Yea, I’m super sentimental today. Go figure!
